public speaking & tv

Sometimes people ask me to talk

PicturePhoto by Jeremy Kramer. ©2020
Over the past 15 years, I've been featured on several television programs discussing various cases I've covered or topics I've studied. I also routinely speak at journalism and crime conferences, podcast conventions, library events and, once, even a Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Because queries have become more frequent and difficult to schedule, I typically request a nominal speaking fee for most events to account for the time required to (re)learn a case and take time away from my day job and family. If traveling and hotel accommodations are required, I ask that those be covered as well. The fee can be negotiable, but please understand that as much as I'd love to talk to everyone for free, it just isn't possible. I have a reputation for being relatable, candid, prepared, thoughtful and, without fail, irreverent even when I'm on good behavior. If you're looking for someone with a filter, I'm not for you.

To make a request, please visit the contact page.
